Volunteer
Approximately 1,000 volunteers work together to make the Relief Sale run smoothly each year. There's a job for everyone and we'd love to have you involved!
Current volunteer needs:

- Head cashier - This person would oversee the check-in/checkout process for the auction on Friday and Saturday. Will need to learn the auction software and be the point person for questions from the cashiers.
- Equipment operator - Someone who can operate a forklift and/or Skytrak to help during setup and take down.
- Children's activities - Looking for people to lead and help with children's activities at the sale. If you have an idea, let us know! Even a few hours of activities would be helpful.
- Friday evening BBQ pork preparer - This person would prepare the pork for the Friday evening dinner.
- Information technology coordinator - This person will set up computers and handle other technology needs at the Relief Sale.
- Head cashier for the auction - This person would oversee the check in / check out process for the auction. Includes learning how to use the auction software, helping new cashiers get up to speed during shift changes, and fielding simple questions from cashiers. Assistance will be available. Can help Friday and Saturday, or just Saturday.
- Auction bid catchers - Looking for a few people to spot bids during the auctions.
- Baked goods sellers - People to sell baked goods on Friday and/or Saturday. Does not involve pricing items.
- Baked goods co-organizer - Someone to co-organize the baked goods area and price items. Help is needed starting at noon on Friday and 6 a.m. on Saturday.
- Food committee co-leader - This person will help Jim Weaver with buying supplies, checking in with food vendors, etc.
- Food committee helper - This person will help Jim Weaver organize and deliver food supplies to booths at the Relief Sale on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
- Apple butter boil coordinator - This person would organize the apple butter boil that takes place several weeks before the Relief Sale. All the information from past years is available to pass on to the new coordinator.
- Sponsorship helper - Someone to assist with organizing sponsorships for the Relief Sale.
- Children's auction organizer - Someone to organize a children's auction.
- Have a new idea? Let us know! Most things that happen at the Relief Sale started when someone took the initiative to say, “I would like to do ___.” If you are feeling led, please consider organizing something.
Additional help needed:
- Set up on Thursday and Friday (Oct. 2 and 3) starting around 8 a.m. Come as you are available to the auction building or the trailers by the barns. Lunch will be provided for volunteers.
- Tear down/clean up on Saturday (Oct. 4) beginning around 1 p.m.
