Rules of Play

  1. Competition is based on who can shoot the most skeet on the 100-shot sporting clays course at the Flying Rabbit, Harrisonburg, VA. Any gauge shotgun may be used. Contestants are welcome to shoot 50 shots instead of 100 using the Flying Rabbit 50-shot card at designated stations (their score will be doubled for scoring).
  2. Individuals and teams of two-to-four may enter. Team members automatically compete for individual scoring as well. All church denominations and non-church groups are welcome.
  3. Play must take place at 1pm on October 5. Team members do not need to play together but must declare their team designation at time of first players’ commencement, not later.
  4. Team designations include members’ names/church name/denomination/team name (optional) for scoring.
  5. Team score awards are made up of two-to-four declared people. If a team is short-handed, they will be given a “dummy score” of 15 for each missing member. (Example: a team of three will tally the three normal scores plus 15 to make up a full four-person team score.) Two people is the smallest team possible for such scoring.
  6. Individuals and teams may play as many rounds as they wish to better their score but only one whole card (or set) will be used. That is to say, individuals and teams may not combine best station scores from several cards into one. Also, they may not rearrange (add/subtract) team members after a round is played.
  7. Individuals should declare a church or club affiliation (or non-affiliation) for our post-event analysis.
  8. In the case of ties for awards, the event coordinator will give the tiebreaker to the one that shot 100s if the other shot only 50s. Otherwise, ties will be decided by a coin toss that is witnessed and signed by an uninterested party.
